Information on Mexico...
and travel tales that celebrate its culture and people...
This website is full of pages that give you facts and information
on going to Mexico AND it's got a lot of pages about my own experiences
there, with how-to information worked into them too.
Things to know if you are going to Mexico:
Mexican Cities is a section of
one-page descriptions of popular Mexican cities and other destinations,
whether you are looking for a relaxing beach, an art colony, or
whatever. Some of the places listed here may not be so famous, but
they are favorites of ours!
Hotels in the Cities
offers one-page descriptions of the hotel situation in some of the
places that I've written about. These give you an overview of what
to expect, and mention places in various price ranges.
How to Get Places discusses
airfares, vacation packages, buses, and car and RV travel, with
tips on getting good prices.
Real Estate Around Mexico
exists because more and more Americans, Canadians, and other foreigners
are buying homes or land in Mexico. The regulations have relaxed
considerably from what they used to be, but you still need to inform
yourself. I've found that Mexican real estate is not always as cheap
as I had hoped, but there are still some great bargains in all parts
of the country. There are also comments on rentals in this section...
renting a place is a very good idea before making the much bigger
decision to buy something. Also, renting in Mexico is often a better
deal than buying, in terms of relative costs.
You can find each of these sections from the yellow menu on the
left of every page. The Sitemap, also
on the menu, describes each page on the website.
I've added a section on posters
of Mexico. Fun to browse! And now there are quite a few
pages of t-shirts and
other custom-printed items with a Mexican theme. These
items are available in the US.
Here's the travel tales part:
I wrote a book, Mexico with Heart, about a two-month
trip my husband Kelly and I took in our small motorhome. We went
south from Texas, along the Gulf coast into the state of Veracruz,
then turned inland to Teotihuacan, San Miguel de Allende, and other
points, in January and February of 2003.
This book is available as a paperback -- and you can read the whole
thing right here on this website, from the Read
the Book section. Wonder why I'm giving it away if I'm also
selling it? Well, I have done this with a couple of books I wrote
on other topics, and it hasn't hurt book sales at all... not everyone
thinks it's fun to read a book at their computer! But mainly, I
write to be read, and I am happy to share my love of Mexico with
everyone. -- Rosana Hart, webmaster
