Living in Mexico and Learning to Speak Spanish: Tales & How-to Tips

The purpose of this blog is to provide information about Mexico -- mostly through my husband's and my day-to-day experiences of living in Mexico, specifically in San Juan Cosala, Jalisco, by Lake Chapala near Ajijic. I write for people who might live or retire in Mexico, for expats or travelers currently in Mexico, and for Mexicans. I write about how to learn to speak Spanish, why it's important, and how to get started. For more, visit my website www.mexico-with-heart.com as well! -- Rosana Hart

New Videos on Mexico

I've just been having great fun producing a couple of videos on Mexico. I went to a site called animoto.com and uploaded a bunch of our photos. I uploaded some royalty-free music I had for the first video below, and used some of theirs for the second. Their software did all the rest.

Here's one on Mexico in general:

And here's one from our Manzanillo and Colima trip:

If you happen to have a YouTube account, I'd love it if you would rate the videos, or comment, to help them get noticed! To go to them on YouTube, here is the link for first one:

and the second:

If you would like to try something like this yourself, here are some animoto how-to tips from my Internet Marketing blog.

Teaching English in Mexico

When our friend Peter was here over the holidays, I interviewed him briefly about teaching English in Mexico. This is my first actual video on youtube -- I've done a couple of slideshows before --and I learned a few things technically in making it, so future efforts should improve. Anyway, if you are interested in teaching English, or if you are an old friend from Crestone who remembers Peter back when he was our "teenage slave" helping us build our house there, have a look!

San Juan Cosala Video I Just Made

The other evening, I was playing around with the free Windows Movie Maker, on my Windows XP laptop, and I made a one-minute video about San Juan Cosala, using photos of Kelly's that have been in this blog, along with some music I had the rights to use.

It was fun... maybe the start of a new phase of multimedia for me! You can see it at:
