Speak Any Spanish?

If you are spending some time in Mexico, it's really useful and fun to speak Spanish, at least some of the basics!

I recommend a downloadable program called Rocket Spanish, which has sound files you can listen to anywhere plus some enjoyable add-ons.

You can find out more at my new site about
Rocket Spanish. I have a variety of articles on learning Spanish that way there.

Visit Expedia…

Expedia is my favorite place to book airfare, and they handle hotels, car rentals, cruises, etc. I like the organization of the site for figuring out what flights I want. Click on the suitcase to take a look.

I was very pleased to win an award for this blog! Even better for you: click through for lists of all sorts of award-winning travel blogs.

The Truth About Mexico March 21, 2009 — Those of us foreigners who live in Mexico are getting a lot of concerned phone calls and emails from family and friends in the US and Canada. They are seeing sensational news stories of dead bodies and drug cartel violence here in Mexico, and tend to assume [...]

Her daily blog, www.mexicotoday.blogspot.com, has just found a place on my browser’s toolbar, so I can be sure to check it often. Here is the blurb [...]

I just came across this blog, written by a woman I haven’t met who lives not far from my town. She really captures some of the interesting. amusing, and even bizarre aspects of life and culture here! I laughed myself silly at some of her turns of phrase. She also doesn’t hesitate to tell it [...]

Feb. 28, 2007 — http://sparks-mexico.com/ is a very attractive blog with many photos. Scott Parks describes it as “Stories and photos about my travels in Mexico since 1998. I’m now retired and living in Melaque, Jalisco – the Costalegre.” On the right is a long list of other blogs about Mexico, so there’s plenty to [...]

Jan. 16, 2006 — Someone from Yucatan Living posted a comment recently on the piece I did some time ago about Merida. I took a look at the blog and thought it was pretty interesting if you are interested in that part of the world… and there’s coverage of the Zapatistas too. And updates on [...]

June 27, 2005 — I first became aware of Rolly Brook from his many helpful posts on the Mexconnect forum. (I’ve mentioned Mexconnect before — it’s a membership forum, recently turned free,  that has provided me with a tremendous amount of information.) Rolly lives in Lerdo, Durango. His website, www.rollybrook.com, is a mixture of personal [...]
