A Quick Update

In 2010, we moved back to the small town in Colorado that I never stopped missing while we lived in Mexico. Now I sometimes miss Mexico, but I wouldn't travel as freely as we did when we were there, camping out in remote areas and so forth.

Mexico today is in a period of change, and in many ways it is more dangerous now. That said, I have plenty of American friends who still live there very happily, just taking a few more precautions than they did in the past.

Just to say!

Visit Expedia…

Expedia is my favorite place to book airfare, and they handle hotels, car rentals, cruises, etc. I like the organization of the site for figuring out what flights I want. Click on the suitcase to take a look.

I was very pleased to win an award for this blog! Even better for you: click through for lists of all sorts of award-winning travel blogs.

Looking for a topnotch resort in Puerto Vallarta? The Westin Regina has four pools, four restaurants, and hundreds of upscale rooms with balconies that look out onto the ocean and mountains, the beautiful Banderas Bay. This comes with good prices for all that you get. It is a Gran Turismo hotel, which means that it has received the highest hotel rating that Mexico gives, higher than five star.

It’s located on the beach, though you may find the pools to be more enjoyable! There are pools just for kids, for adults, and for families. They have garden islands and are quite lovely, with the hundreds of palm trees’ shadows on the water.

Located in the marina district, the Westin Regina is only a few minutes from the airport and a short taxi ride into the heart of Puerto Vallarta. You can watch cruise ships gliding to their terminal from the hotel.

Of course it has all sorts of extras: satellite TV, room service at any hour, internet connections, shops, tours and activities, a poolside bar, wedding services, a business center, a hair salon, and much more. Parents will be glad to know that supervised child care and activities for children are offered.

The Westin Regina in Puerto Vallarta has plenty for everyone. But if you want a private beach free of vendors with your hotel, try the Camino Real.
